Quechee Library has grown robustly as a community resource through a combination of grants, tax dollars, and the donation by businesses and many individuals of time, talent and funds.   
      Its nature as a private association overseeing public library services imparts unusual responsibilities and opportunities.   Tax support is limited to operating expenses, and the Town of Hartford allocates that support to the four village libraries that include Quechee and its branch, the Wilder Club and Library.  All capital expenses and many enrichment expenses must be met by ongoing fundraising.
